Stepping into fiction for a moment! The Exorcist is one of my favorite movies of all time! And I have no argument whatsoever against the notion that it is the scariest movie of all time! I watched the movie a long long time after it was released! I was not even born when the original came out! The movie was psychologically disturbing, and I have never seen any other movie that has used the power of influence by using subliminal imagery like The Exorcist! The movie is much more than Good vs. Evil, it reminded us that there are things that are as of now beyond human comprehension and needs to be looked at from a spiritual context!
The awesome Jack Macgowran as Burke Dennings
A few days ago I stumbled upon a video in U Tube, where Rob Ager had posted an in depth analysis of The Exorcist, as to how the movie could be much darker than it actually is, when one pays close attention to the character of Burke Dennings. Rob basically concludes that Regan might have been physically abused by Burke and she reaches the height of her evil display only after Burke dies under mysterious circumstances! It has to be watched to have a complete understanding of Rob’s ideas! I for one was completely convinced by Rob’s analysis!
Here are Rob’s analysis videos from U Tube.
